Limited Editions

A limited edition comprises a number of prints of the same image, and sometimes different sizes constitute different editions. So, a photographer could have an edition of 100 large prints, then choose to create a second edition of 50 small prints.

There's no right or wrong about creating an edition. Some photo-graphers don't have any editions at all, while others carefully craft editions to make their work more valuable. Whether an edition makes a work more valuable or not is debatable.

The most important thing about editions is for the photographer to clearly state what will happen to the image in the future. Either there is a limit to the number of copies of the image produced, or there is not.

Peter Eastway's photographs are provided as limited edition prints.

Peter Eastway undertakes to sell a limited number of prints of a particular image, no matter what the size. The size of the edition is stated with the images shown on this website.

Photographs increase in value when they are well-known. As a published photographer world-wide, Peter Eastway reserves the right to use the images sold as limited edition prints in publications (such as books, magazines, calendars and online), and to make 'artist prints' available to public institutions outside the limited edition. This approach is in keeping with the aim of limited edition prints - to make your work more valuable.
